    Incentives and Benefits Designed for You

    Commitment Bonuses: Select, full-time imaging positions qualify for a commitment bonus of up to $10,000.

    Relocation Assistance: Up to $3,000 in relocation assistance is available to assist respiratory care practitioners with moving costs, if living 50 or more miles away from their designated Duke University Health System facility.

    Paid Time Off: Team members accrue paid time off (PTO) to cover time away for holidays, sick time, and vacation. Time accrued is based on years of service and bi-weekly or monthly paid status. Starting accrual for monthly paid new hires is typically 2.91 days per month (35 days per year). 

    Tuition Assistance: Team members can receive tuition assistance of up to $5,250 per calendar year after six months of full-time employment.

    Back-up Care Service: 10 annual days of back-up care at discounted rates using Bright Horizons' network of caregivers who provide temporary care when team members have a disruption in their regular care. Team members can use these 10 days either in-home for both child and adults for $6 per hour, or at a Bright Horizons center at $15 per child per day or $25 per family.

    Referral Bonuses: Team members can earn monetary rewards of up to $1,000 and other prizes for referring prospective team members to Duke Health. 

    Retirement: Duke funds the Employees’ Retirement Plan, a traditional defined benefit pension plan designed to provide you with a guaranteed monthly income at your retirement, paid for entirely by Duke and fully vested after five years of service. The plan is administered by Fidelity, and team members may contribute on a pre-tax basis, Roth after-tax basis, or a combination of both. The maximum contribution to this plan for 2024 is $23,000, and team members over the age of 50 may contribute up to an additional $7,500.

    In addition to these incentives and benefits, Duke Health invests in all full-time team members with comprehensive benefits through our Total Rewards Program.

    Follow your passions at Duke Health: Marina's story

    Marina wasn't always interested in a health care career. In fact, she first began at Duke Health as a food service contractor in 2015. Being around Duke Health radiologists influenced her decision to change professions. Now, she works with us as full-time radiologic technologist.
