Support for communities

 
Duke Health is deeply invested in the communities where we give care. Here are just a few examples of how we offer support:
  • Over the past two decades, Duke has helped to create more than 1,000 homes and units to expand affordable housing in Durham.
  • In 2025, Duke Health partnered with Durham Technical Community College and Durham Public Schools to launch the Durham Early College High School for Health Sciences, funded by a $29.5 million Bloomberg Philantrophies grant. Graduates will have the opportunity to explore careers with Duke Health.
  • We offer free recreational spaces that are open to the community, including Duke Forest and Duke Gardens.
