PRMO Established in 2001, Patient Revenue Management Organization (PRMO) is a fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization supporting all of Duke Health, including Duke University Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital, the Private Diagnostic Clinic, and Duke Primary Care. The PRMO focuses on streamlining the revenue cycle through enhanced management of scheduling, registration, coding, HIM operations, billing, collections, cash management, and customer service. Occ Summary

Coordinate and participate in a variety of duties associated withdaily clinic preparation process, pat ient identification, patient checkin/out, charge posting, cash managemen t andpatient appointmentscheduling.Position also involves customer serv ice,messagedistribution, ancillary scheduling and preparation and referr alsmanagement.Floating position. Covers all areas but not limited to, X- Ray, Neurology, and the Lab. This PSA will provide services for the Sout h Durham and Brier Creek location for Infusion services.


Wo rkPerformed

Prepare for clinic visits by reviewing next day pati ents andcompleting next day preparation activities. Enter pre-visit orde rsandprepare new patient charts. Pick up X-rays, office charts, medicalr ecords, reports, petty cash and collections bag. File history sheets,anc illary reports and all other required patient record documentation.Retur nmedical records. Attach HIPPA/Medicare documents to theencounter forms. Check-in patient upon arrival in the practice. Identify correct patient information in Maestro Care. Verify patient demographic data. EditMaestr o Care as needed. Accurately identify theappropriate accountfor patientv isit. Present and educate patients on required forms andobtain signature asrequired by policy and procedure. Completes allMaestro Care check-in files and manage all appropriate alerts. Collectand post co-payments and balances on accounts due. Imprint allpatientspecific chart documentsandrequisition/transmittal documents.Copy,file and distribute insurancecar dsas indicated by procedure.Coordinate all labs/procedures as requested. Maintain private physicianofficecharts.Prepare encounter forms. Investig ate and account for missing encounterforms. Audit encounter formsfor com pleteness and accuracy beforebatching. Batches encounter forms orchargep osting in Maestro Care.Schedule tests and procedures. Completeand distri buteancillary service requisitions.Explain billing to patientsaccordingto PRMO credit and collection policies. Determine the amountofcash to be collected based on insurance plan.Check-outpatients. Make return appoint ments by scheduling patients into thecorrect appointment type, entering the primary care physician orreferring physician and scheduling testsand procedures.Answer telephone, take and deliver messages tophysicians,nur ses andothers. Reportobtained medical information from patients andrefer ringphysicians accurately, completely and timely. Disseminate messagesac cording to practicecommunication standards


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong verbal and written communication. Basic PC and data entryskills. Knowledge of medical terminologyand telephone eti quette.Demonstrated ability to organizeand prioritizework, provideoral andwritten instructions, interact tactfully with customers and establish and maintain effective relationships with others. Education
