Duke University Health System Relocation Program

Whether you're considering a move from across the country or in North Carolina, Duke Health is here to support your career in the Triangle. In partnership with UrbanBound, our relocation program offers a comprehensive array of support for new Duke University Health System team members — including dedicated relocation consultants, financial support, and even detailed guides to local communities and neighborhoods.

Depending on your position with us and if your current residence is greater than 50 miles from your designated Duke facility, there are four different tiers within the program that you may be eligible for. All four tiers offer a cash allowance, which is a lump sum payment provided to new team members for miscellaneous moving-related costs. Three tiers also offer a managed budget as well, which is allotment of funds that new team members may utilize to pay for approved relocation benefits and services, like shipments for household goods and vehicles, lease cancellations via reimbursement, and more.

Relocation assistance tiers

  • Tier one

    This tier is for new team members who have accepted eligible entry-level positions. This tier offers a lump-sum cash payment, which is provided via direct deposit.

  • Tier two

    This tier is for new team members who have accepted eligible experienced positions. This tier offers a lump-sum cash payment, which is provided via direct deposit, and a managed budget. 

  • Tier three

    This tier is for new team members who have accepted eligible manager-level positions. This tier offers a lump-sum cash payment, which is provided via direct deposit, and a managed budget. 

  • Tier four

    This tier is for new team members who have accepted eligible executive-level positions. This tier offers a lump-sum cash payment, which is provided via direct deposit, and a managed budget.
