Affinity Groups: Duke Military Association
Connect with veterans and their supporters to build community and grow personally and professionally with the Duke Military Association.
This affinity group brings together more than 1,000 team members together to network, form connection through shared experiences, seek advice, and learn new skills. Duke Military Association members connect through:
1) Outreach programs that give back to the community throughout the year
2) Email newsletters
3) Regular gatherings 5-7 p.m. the first Thursday of the month that allow Duke Military Association members opportunities to unite, share "war stories," and learn about veteran affairs and benefits.
Learn more about the Duke Military Association by contacting Dan Bruno at dan.bruno@duke.edu or visit the Duke Military Association website.
Creating a Culture of Shared Community
Duke Health has several affinity groups that help unify team members through shared identity and purpose. As a Navy vet, Val joined the Duke Military Association affinity group, turning to this support system to network and meet mentors. In addition to creating personal connections, the affinity group also focuses on giving back through programs like “Sweats for Vets.” Listen to Val's story.
