$5,000 Sign-On Bonus Eligible | Paid out in 2 equal installments over 12 months in 6-month increments (6 months and 12 months).

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Certified in our Duke Signature Care South Durham clinic located at 234 Crooked Creek Parkway Durham NC 27713 to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform intake with patients to include vital signs, visit information, and other clinical information as indicated.
• Perform telephone message taking with patients, document encounter, follow protocols established by clinic leadership, and inform provider.
• Administer medications to patients as ordered by providers or by established protocols following the six rights of medication administration.
• Assists providers with procedures such as wound dressings, pap smears, etc.
• Participates in performance improvement projects.
• Performs tasks such as set up for clinical procedures, EKG’s, medication injections, lab draws, and other miscellaneous appropriate tasks within scope of practice.
• Attain prior authorizations for medications and durable medical equipment as indicated.
• Float in clinic or to secondary clinic site occasionally to cover patient and provider needs as delegated by nurse manager, health center administrator, charge nurse, or nurse team lead. 

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required. Please specify on resume which certification you have and the expiration date.
• BLS required.
• Level I -- Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required.
• Level II -- Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required.
• Level I -- No experience required.
• Level II -- 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified in a clinical setting.

JOB HOURS:

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
